Nature Sketches - 03

Even more nature sketches from the last months of 2019 and the first of 2020, all 12.5 x 8.5cm. Some days I'll pick easy subjects that I've drawn before to ensure I get good results. Confidence matters and this has been a convenient way for me to refuel. Other days I'll consciously try a new subject to challenge myself. Not all flowers are beautiful roses, though I've still preferred to focus rather close on my subjects rather than tackling vast landscapes and complex backgrounds. Later, as winter approached and the vibrant gardens of California dimmed, I gathered leaves and acorns to draw at my desk inside whenever I wanted.
