Animal Bones

More from me:

In making many of my animal sculpts, I find myself pausing to study their prominent bones as a way to understand their bodies. Bones vary less than flesh and certain of them play an enormous role in the surface forms we see. In particular, the skull and pelvis reach out to press shallowly and recognizably against our skin. Whenever I find my surface forms lacking in structure, I dig down to the bones that inform them for suggestions.
